Sunday, August 5, 2012* - JOIN THE 12 MILLION DOG MARCH ONLINE OR IN PERSON!!! The event takes place next Sunday at Pan Pacific Park across from The Grove in Los Angeles. Many awesome events, including a performance by the lead singer of Cheap Trick, are set to take place! The goal of the march is to raise awareness about canine cancer and to raise money so that dogs currently in the fight can receive treatments. The 12 Million Dog March is sponsored by The Riedel & Cody Fund, Petco & Blue Buffalo dog food. Veterinary Cancer Group's own Dr. Avenelle Turner, Dr. Mary Davis, Dr. Jarred Lyons and staff will be on hand to help spread the word about pet cancer awareness. Be sure to check out Dr. Turner at one of her public lounge presentations, where she'll be speaking about canine cancer. Here's a link to their official webpage or visit our own facebook page and check out our events. *(Post Event note) The 12 MDM (above) was an awesome sucess. Everyone seemed to have a great time and the band was awesome! Our doctors enjoyed answering all of the differnent cancer questions that popped up. We were all delighted to hear of so many pets that had "defied the odds". It was also great to hear of an increased awareness of the treatment options available for pets today. Most importantly, we are hear that most families' main goal is to ensuring their pet is able to enjoy the best quality of life possible while they are here with us. Visit the event's Facebook page for some great pics. We hope you'll be able to attend next year. Check out this Access Hollywood celebrity interview with guest emcee Sharon Lawrence, where she speaks of the cancer epidemic that affects 12 million pets in our country each year.
